Wednesday, October 28

  • Kick off your conference experience with a pre-conference workshop exploring topics like accessibility and the power of play in storytime
  • Gather for an inspiring opening keynote and luncheon with KLC's Julia Fabris McBride
  • Discover fresh ideas in breakout sessions led by Kansas library professionals who are doing incredible work across the state
  • Celebrate the start of the conference at our Vendor Bash, featuring small bites, a cash bar, and plenty of opportunities to connect with vendors and colleagues who help make Kansas libraries stronger—because we're Better Together
  • Wrap up the evening with a guided walking tour to the Keeper of the Plains, exploring Wichita's riverfront while experiencing one of the city's most iconic landmarks (weather dependent)

Thursday, October 29

  • Fuel up with Breakfast with the Vendors and start the day by making new connections
  • Hear from ALA Past President (2025–26) Sam Helmick as they share insights on strengthening libraries through collaboration, advocacy, and the power of working Better Together
  • Choose from engaging breakout sessions packed with practical ideas you can bring back to your library
  • Reconnect with colleagues during user group meetings and share successes, challenges, and solutions with peers from across Kansas
  • Browse author tables and meet talented local writers while discovering your next great read
  • Join your peers for membership meetings to learn what's happening across KLA's sections
  • Celebrate the achievements of Kansas library workers at our Celebration of Service Luncheon
  •  Recharge with an afternoon sweet treat and enjoy one last opportunity to visit with conference vendors
  • Try your luck in the basket raffle, with proceeds supporting conference sponsorships for KLA members

KLA will try to accommodate as many dietary restrictions as possible, but we cannot guarantee that all restrictions will be accommodated.

Hotel information:

The KLA room block at the Hyatt Regency Wichita will open on September 4, 2026 – overnight accommodations include parking in the attached garage.

Not able to stay the night? Parking fees apply for the Hyatt’s attached garage; discounted all-day parking ($7.50) will be available at registration.

Alternately, you may park on the surface lot across Waterman (see City of Wichita page) Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. (with the exception of “Event Parking” there will not be a charge for parking outside of the aforementioned hours of operation) at the rate of:

  • $1 per hour ($10 per day max)
  • In lieu of hourly parking, parkers may pay $5 per day in a surface lot unless “event parking” rates apply.
  • A “day” starts when a parker enters a surface lot and “ends” when enforcement ends for the day.
  •  The daily rate does not continue to the next “day”.
  • Vehicles with visible and valid ADA or Disabled Veterans placards, tags or license plates may park for free of charge - subject to event parking rates as applicable. Failure to adequately display may result in ticketing or towing at owner's expense.

Refunds and Cancellations:

All registration cancellations and refund requests for the Kansas Library Association Conference, including preconference and meal events, must be made in writing to KLA@amigos.org. The last day to receive a refund is October 16th. There is a $25 processing fee for all refunds.
