Best Small Public Library in Kansas 2019 - Syracuse

The Hamilton County Library is located in Syracuse Kansas, and Amy Brucker is the director. Serving a population of 2,640, they work very hard to provide value to everyone in their community. Their aim is to “go beyond the four walls of our building; we position ourselves to be the heart of our community.” Onsite service offerings include the Senior Center, daycare centers in the community, and in the schools. Leveraging a food program grant through the K-State Research and Extension Office, they provide healthy snacks and refreshments for their summer programs, and are currently working on developing a toiletries pantry in the community for those in need of these resources. This type of innovation, creativity and care make the Hamilton County Public Library an extremely deserving recipient of this award.
