What is the Foundation?
The Kansas Library Association Educational Foundation (KLAEF) is dedicated to providing grants and scholarships for the librarians of the Kansas Library Association and assisting the KLA conference through financial sponsorship. KLAEF is a non-profit organization.
What does the Foundation do for KLA?
- Raised $3,167 from KLAEF events and Conference fundraising in 2010-2011.
- 2011 Conference saw over 30 groups and Libraries donate baskets, raising $2,526
- 2011 Conference saw the soft soft opening for the Pay it Forward member fund raising campaign and the KLAEF Board met the challenge by committing to support the campaign by being the first to contribute.
- The FOKL Board helped to kick-off our fundraising campaign as well and gave $100 in honor of Jim Minges.
- Fundraising from some Board members and the FOKL gift- $500
- $100,000 endowment now in place that generates an annual contribution to the KLA budget. KLA received $3000 in FY2007-08.
- Coordinates contributions to the Greensburg Relief Fund on an ongoing basis: $31,712.53 collected as of 12/31/07.
- Provided 20 continuing education grants in the past 3 years.
- Received Kan-Ed grants to provide technology that enhances communication statewide.
- Hosts fundraisers at library conference that generate income for the endowment and entertainment for all.
