What is the Foundation?
The Kansas Library Association Educational Foundation (KLAEF) is dedicated to providing grants and scholarships for the librarians of the Kansas Library Association and assisting the KLA conference through financial sponsorship. KLAEF is a non-profit organization.
What does the Foundation do for KLA?
- 2012 Conference raised $2,353 with 30 baskets
- The FOKL Board donated $200.00 in honor of their Leadership Award Winners, Cyndi Hickey and Shannon Roy.
- $103,000.00 now in place for the endowment
- Looking to start Capitol Campaign to set a permanent base to generate enough income for the awards standardized by the Foundation. More information to follow.
- Coordinates contributions to the Greensburg Relief Fund on an ongoing basis: $31,712.53 collected as of 12/31/07.
- Provided 20 continuing education grants in the past 3 years.
- Received Kan-Ed grants to provide technology that enhances communication statewide.
- Hosts fundraisers at library conference that generate income for the endowment and entertainment for all.
