Best Small Library in Kansas 2014

By , 10/22/2014

Please join me in congratulating Wamego Public Library as they have been selected to receive the Kansas Best Small Library Award for 2014.

Wamego Public Library serves a population of 4,485 and has a staff of 12 individuals. The Library was selected to receive this award based on their Mobile Librarian Project. This project involves the use of tablets, a Square eReader and Bluetooth scanner to assist patrons in checking out materials beyond the desk. Some of the results include improved efficiency of current services and engaging the community in new technologies and service concepts.

Please join me at the 2014 conference in Wichita on Thursday, October 30th at the Awards Reception as I present the award to Wamego Public Library Director Peter Vopata and his staff. I’m sure they will be glad to visit with you in more detail about this project.
