FY2007-08 Budget

President Swain reviewed the 2007-08 budget.   A question was asked regarding why individual and institutional dues revenue projections were less than the previous year. Siemens explained that the previous years’ projections were too high and weren’t met. The Finance Committee felt the current figures were realistic and do not indicate an expectation that membership will decline.

Another question was asked regarding the budget status of the KLA Educational Foundation. Swain explained that the KLA Educational Foundation’s finances as a separate 501(c)3 organization must be separate from KLA’s finances.

Strategic Planning Task Force Report

President Swain reported that the KLA Council approved the KLA Strategic Plan for 2007-09 at its meeting on April 11, 2007. She reviewed the new mission, vision, values and goals. Copies are available at the conference and the new plan will be available on the KLA website following the TriConference. President-elect Carla Kaiser indicated this will be the work plan for KLA during her presidency and she asked for volunteers to help implement the plan.
